Bestselling author, speaker, and world-traveling success coach Jen Sincero cuts through the din of the self-help genre with her own verbal meat cleaver in You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. In this refreshingly blunt how-to guide, Sincero serves up twenty-seven bite-sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, life-changing insights, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word. Via chapters such as "Your Brain Is Your Bitch," "Fear Is for Suckers" and "My Subconscious Made Me Do It," Sincero takes you on a wild joy ride to your own transformation, helping you create the money, relationships, career, and general all-around awesomeness you so desire. And should you be one of those people who dreads getting busted with a self-help book in your hands, fear not. Sincero, a former skeptic herself, delivers the goods minus the New Age cheese, giving even the snarkiest of poo-pooers exactly what they need to get out of their ruts and start kicking some ass. By the end of You Are a Badass, you will understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can't change, how to change what you don't love, and how to start living the kind of life you used to be jealous of.

Life coach and author Jen Sincero throws a lot of passion into her reading of her spunky advice on how to stop holding yourself back from the life you deserve. She sounds fresh and totally spontaneous--part true believer, part stoner/comedian, part tough-love coach--as she covers familiar personal growth topics like the law of attraction, getting out of ruts, relationship dilemmas, money hang-ups, and negative life scripts. With her colorful personal history, street language, and counterculture attitude, she's utterly convincing and hard to dismiss. Her in-your-face writing and one-of-a-kind vocal energy will wake up your abandoned dreams and light the kind of inner fire you need to move into a glorious uncharted future. T.W. Sincero (Don't Sleep With Your Drummer) brings a fun, feminine verve to now well-tread self-help tropes, offering a promising new title in the genre that's not as completely irreverent as it sounds. The system Sincero outlines is a specific way of thinking about reality: imagining the not-yet-reality into the present. She includes important messages about forgiveness, personal power, gratitude, meditation, and learning from experience, alongside fear-banishing techniques. Original exercises, such as writing a letter to money, and ways to identify false beliefs abound with clever turns of phrase and chapter ti-tles like "Your Brain Is Your Bitch", "Present as a Pigeon", "Lead with Your Crotch", and "Doing vs. Spewing". Sincero writes with candor about her own struggles, heightening the message's accessibil-ity, particularly among a younger set. In essence: the vast, unknowable universe will give us every-thing we desire enough to envision, but laziness and doubt are banned. The tone is far more feisty than academic, and there's humor on every page, all of which is exactly what her intended audience most needs.

Jen Sincero offers a no-nonsense approach to reinventing yourself, shedding the past’s baggage, and grasping the opportunities awaiting you, once you’re ready to seize your inner awesomeness. Her goal is to chisel away the fluff of the self-help genre and identify exactly what you need to do in order to succeed. Sincero reads in a conversational voice, however she sometimes comes across as slightly condescending. As a narrator, Sincero tries to be both lively and relaxed, and thus her narration sounds uneven. Still, listeners looking to find their inner badasses and live awesome lives will find this spirited audio edition useful. A Running Press paperback.
